The choice to raise a family on your own demands a huge sacrifice for anyone in this world. There is no denying there is an abundance of opportunities laid out for us to achieve our dreams. However, some of us choose to stay at home and finish everything else. Some say the satisfaction of seeing everything come together perfectly under their own management is the cause of it all. Whereas there are others who want a more orderly family as it is within their close monitoring. Each choice comes with its own reasoning, besides its pros and cons.
Those beautiful moments of watching the child go through each phase of their lives cannot be measured by monetary value. The first step taken, first spoken word, first feeding, the moment he or she first says “Mom”, “Mamma”, “Ma”, whatever it may be. Knowing that this was all worth it. It is like you are recording these wonderful memories to be shared. Imagine the moment your child is all grown up, sitting down while surrounded by your grandchildren, as you tell them how fun it was watching their parents grow up with all their playful behaviors.
While many do not consider being a housewife much of a career, that is hardly the case for some. The exhaustion from keeping your house in order is not that different from working in the office. You would still need to manage your time well, besides having to multitask to ensure everything gets done. You could probably leave your office duties behind as soon as you exit the building. But, the real duties at home is never-ending. That is the challenge of being a mother, regardless of being a housewife or working full-time.
Truly, a mother’s duty requires creativity to ensure everything is in order and that it meets all individual needs in the family. Just imagine the number of dishes you need to prepare just because everyone has their own preferences. Never has a mother ever complained about how much needs to be prepared so that everyone gets to enjoy the right dishes. Not to mention the task of preparing the kids for school, which gets ever more complicated as time goes by and continues to evolve. Maybe paper cutting activities no longer exist today and have been replaced with the use of apps on the smartphone to get assignments done.
However, you can still ask for a little time for yourself. Pamper yourself with body treatment, as well as keep yourself looking fresh and lively as you run your errands. You definitely deserve it after all the fatigue from the work you put into it. Maybe you can steal a bit of time while on vacation with the family to go to the spa and bring that attention back to yourself. If you have a daughter, ask her to come along and use that chance to give them advice on how best to face the good and bad times and share life stories. Always remember that whenever you start taking care of yourself, you will be better in caring for the people around you.
